Carolyn Lewis
MD, MSc, FRCS(C)
Carolyn Lewis is Chief of Plastic Surgery at St. Joseph's Hospital in Hamilton, Associate Professor at McMaster University, and a Board Member of the Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons. She completed fellowships in microsurgery at the University of Toronto and the University of Washington and holds a Master of Science in Health Research Methodology from McMaster University.

Dr. John Phillips
BSc, MA, MD, FRCS(C
Doctor of Medical Science in Plastic Surgery training from the University of Toronto.
Serves as the Medical Director of The Hospital for Sick Children Craniofacial Program from 1993-1998, and currently serves as Chief for the Division of Plastic Surgery. Within his current role, he oversees the surgical side of the multidisciplinary Vascular Malformation Clinic. As a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and an Associate Professor at the University of Toronto, he actively teaches craniomaxillofacial courses on a national and international level and has presented over 75 papers at international meetings.

Leif Sigurdson

Doctor of Medical Sciences, Master of Science, Associate Professor, Master of Business Administration. Direction: microsurgery, traumatology and craniofacial surgery. Associate Professor of the Department of Plastic Surgery at the University of Manitoba since 2008. Since 1996, he has been a volunteer in numerous international missions, one of which is called Operation "Smile" - correction of cleft lip and palate. Research focused on outcomes related to breast augmentation, questionnaire development, and clinical trials.
Dr. Sultan Alshaqsi

Dr. Alshaqsi is Craniofacial Surgeon from the Sultanate of Oman. Graduated from the University of Toronto Plastic Surgery residency program in 2020. Subsequently, completed a paediatric Craniofacial fellowship with Dr. John Phillips at the Hospital for Sick Children followed by an adult cranio maxillofacial fellowship with Dr. Oleh Antonyshyn at Sunnybrook Hospital. Practices both pediatric and adult craniofacial surgery with special interest in congenital and trauma reconstruction.

Doctor of Medicine, Master of Science, and Associate Professor trained in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery.
President of the American Society for Peripheral Nerve and the American Association for Hand Surgery. Director of the Hand Program. Clinical interests lie in upper extremity trauma, nerve compression, and arthritis. Elucidation of the cause of carpal tunnel syndrome, clinical research on the diagnosis and management of carpal tunnel syndrome, and decision modeling as applied to the upper extremity. Surgical Role in the first hand transplant.

Emergency Medicine Physician, Winnipeg
Tamara McColl is a clinician educator, Assistant Professor and Director of Education Scholarship and Faculty Development within the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of Manitoba. She is the Chair of the Royal College Specialty Committee for Emergency Medicine, sits on the Board of Directors for the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians (CAEP) and is the Chair of the CAEP Education Scholars Committee. Dr. McColl engages in research focused primarily on competency based medical education, education innovations, and EDI.
